We are all sinners and in need of a Savior! God sent His only Son Jesus as a gift for us. He lived a sinless life and then died in our place on the cross, taking the punishment we deserved for our sin on Himself. He took our punishment and in place allows us to have His righteousness if we believe in Him by faith. This is the gift of God, it is a free gift we cannot earn and is an act of His grace and mercy towards us. If you know in your life that you need more than what you've got. If you know you've been missing something than we invite you to come to Jesus who loves you and wants to give you forgiveness, hope, healing, and eternal life in Him. There is no formula or special thing you must do but acknowledge in your heart that you have sinned and need to be saved and then believe that what Jesus did on the cross is enough to save you. If you have made that decision please head over to our contacts page and let us know so we can be praying with you and encourage you in your new relationship with Jesus.
To be a fully devoted follower of Christ means to be in union with Christ, to grow in Christlikeness, to live and act as He did, forfeiting ones own life and will to unselfishly give themselves back to God, abandoning the world without looking back.
Matthew 4:19-20, Luke 9:23-26, Luke 9:57-62
We are an evangelical, Bible believing church. We believe Jesus is the only way to heaven and hope that these short examples will give you a glimpse of the truth we hold...
The Bible - We believe that the entire Bible is the authoritative, infallible word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the only written revelation from God to man. The Bible is a vital component for helping us understand God's will for our lives and is the final authority for faith and life (Matthew 5:18, John 16:12-13, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thess 2:13, Peter 1:20 -21.
God , the Father: Creator of Everything from Nothing (In only 6 days)
The Trinity - One God Three Persons (a mystery but true none the less)
God - We believe there is one Creator, God - all knowing, all loving and all powerful, who co-exists in three persons: The Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Gen 1:1, Deut 6:4, Matt 28:19, Luke 10:21, John 10:30, 1Peter 1:2.
Jesus - We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, was raised from the dead on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will return again in power and glory to judge the living and the dead. Jesus is our High Priest, our mediator, our perfect sacrifice and our advocate. (John 1:1-5, Gen 1:1, Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:18-25, 1 Peter 2:24, Ephesians 1:7, Luke 24:6 --- etc...
The Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within every follower of Jesus in order to counsel, equip, empower, guide and transform us into the likeness of Jesus, and help the church carry out the work of God in the World. We believe the Holy Spirit imparts gifts and talents to us for service in the church and that the fruits of the Spirit are the evidence of spiritual maturity and growth.
Salvation - We believe salvation is a free gift from God and reflects His love, grace and mercy toward us. The only means of salvation (eternal life) is believing that Christ fully paid our sin debt and adopted us into the family of God and began reconciling us back to God in order to have an eternal home with Him. (Acts 4:12, John 14:6, 1 Peter 2:24, Hebrews 9:26, 1 John 3:1-4, John 3:16; Galatians 4:4-7 Romans 4:4)
Church's tend to be good at telling you what they believe and while that is vital, we believe it's also important for you to know what we value. What we value are those areas of life and ministry that give TLC her personality in a world that is swimming with possibilities...
Truth - Because God's Word is true and He calls us to walk in that truth
Love - Because God is love and He calls us to love one another
Grace and Forgiveness - The heart of the gospel is the one true God who loves us so much that He gives us the free gift of Salvation by His grace through the forgiveness earned by His Son on our behalf. Since He extends us so much grace and forgiveness should we not do the same for one another?
Community - Because God calls us to live the gospel together and to receive one another as we would Christ
Respect - Because we are all created in God's image and even if we disagree there is no place for hate towards others in the Christian life
Radical Faith - Because God has not called us to live a life on the sidelines but to take risks and go on all the adventures He calls us to
Generosity - God has freely given us so much in His Son and He calls those who have freely received to freely give.
Service - We are called to love people in word and deed as we seek God's guidance and practical opportunities to do so
Authenticity - Because there is too much that is fake in this world to be that way in God's Kingdom. This includes a willingness to be a humble and vulnerable part of a community. This can be scary at first but it is so worth it
Fun - God did not create us to be the proverbial sticks in the mud. He has a sense of humor (He created us didn't He?) and we believe that God wants us to enjoy the life He has so graciously given us. Jesus said He came to give us life more abundantly. I cannot imagine an abundant life that isn't fun as well!
The Lord's Chapel is dedicated to the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel throughout the world. Whether we go accross the street or accross the ocean we want the good news of what Jesus has done to be heard. As a part of that dedication we give 10 percent of all we receive as a church to local and global missions. Here are a couple of examples. We do support other missions work as well, some of which is to areas where it would be dangerous to reveal information about our missionaries, their work, or their location.
Carlito Catajusan - Soul-Winner Baptist Church in Bansalan Philippines
Pastor Carlito is one of the hardest working pastors you will ever meet. He pastors or oversees multiple churches and ministries including outreach ministries to schools and youth in his area. Currently Carlito and his family, including his wife Joy and their newborn baby Keziah, are being used by God in a wonderful way to reach people for the Christ in the Philippines.
Hope Pregnancy Center - Trinidad, Colorado
The Hope Pregnancy Center is a local ministry that we support as a church. They are a crisis pregnancy center that ministers to women and men who are facing pregnancy. They offer counseling, help with adoption, and other abortion alternatives. They are also available for post-abortion care and counseling. Led by their director JoAnn Valdez, and a dedicated board, they are the only crisis pregnancy center in our area and we are proud to be able to partner with them in ministry.
