Pastor Performance Review Committee Duties

  

The Pastor Performance Review Committee reports to the Elder Board, Deacon Board and Membership Body of the Church. The Committee shall perform and present the Pastor Performance Review. The Review will concentrate on Duties in the Pastor's List that directly serve the Lord's Chapel. A minimum of three (3) Members will be selected from the existing Boards by the Congregation. The Committee will communicate and cooperate with other Officers, Board Members and the Congregation as needed to accomplish the following duties.

l. Welcome Oversight, Direction and Participation from the Elder Board, Deacon Board and Membership. 

lI. Elect a Chairman to oversee Functioning of the Committee in the pursuit of duties.

III. Complete and present the Pastor Performance Review to the Pastor within two weeks of his annual hiring anniversary date as determined by the Treasurer using financial records. 

lV. The Pastor Evaluation Form will be independently completed by each Committee Member. The Form requires that each duty, in each of the two categories in the Pastor Duties List, be evaluated. The number which most closely reflects the Member's opinion should be circled - (1 means most need for improvement / 5 means best possible)..

V. Committee Members are encouraged to offer suggestions and ideas for improvement in the evaluation - especially if ratings are in the 1 to 3 range. 

VI. The Committee shall discuss and aggregate the resulting Forms to produce the Pastor Performance Review document for presentation to the Pastor. In order for the Pastor to understand the cohesiveness of responses (or lack thereof) all evaluation numbers will be shown on the aggregated Form. All ratings, comments and suggestions will be tied to the Pastor's Duties List. The document will emphasize areas of positive performance and suggestions for improvement as needed. 

VII. The committee shall present the Pastor Performance Review document to the Pastor and discuss with emphasis on areas of excellence and positive plans for improvement. 

VII The Committee shall record casual notes of the discussion to evaluate the effectiveness of the process for improvement of the next year's review.

VIII. Perform all other duties designated by the Lord’s Chapel Members or pertaining to the office.
